AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with an amendment, Section 213 (b)
of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Chancery", sub-title "Uniform Gifts to Minors Act",
to include credit unions within the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 213 (b) of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Edition), title "Chancery", sub-title "Uniform Gifts to
Minors Act", be and is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with an
amendment, to read as follows:
213 (b) Bank—A "bank" is any banking institution or credit
union formed pursuant to Article 11 of the Annotated Code, title
"Banks and Trust Companies", or pursuant to the laws of the United
States as a national bank, or any insured homestead or building
association incorporated under the laws of this State or any insured
federal savings and loan association OR CREDIT UNION organized
under the laws of the United States.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 40 and
75 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1964 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-titles "Chap-
ter 4. State Superintendent of Schools" and "Chapter 5. County
Board of Education", amending the laws concerning the power of
the State Superintendent of Schools with respect to remodeling or
constructing school buildings and the powers of County Boards of
Education as to the cost of school buildings, improvements, sup-
plies, or equipment of any sort.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 40 and 75 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Public Educa-
tion", sub-titles "Chapter 4. State Superintendent of Schools" and
"Chapter 5. County Board of Education", be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40. The State Superintendent of Schools shall, subject to the rules
and regulations of the State Board of Education, pass upon all pro-
posals for the purchase of ground, school sites or buildings, or for
the sale of the same, and also upon all plans and specifications for the
remodeling of old school buildings or the construction of new school
