Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall expire auto-
matically on June 1, 1966, without further action on the part of the
General Assembly and shall be null and void after said date.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public health and safety, and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 974)
AN ACT to add a new Section 2 (v) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1964 Cumulative Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Definitions," to follow im-
mediately after Section 2 (u) thereof, providing that in Prince
George's County the word "taxpayer" be defined.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 2 (v) be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1964 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Definitions," to
follow immediately after Section 2 (u) thereof, and to read as
follows:
2. Definitions.
(v) In Prince George's County.—"Taxpayer" shall mean a resi-
dent who pays either real estate tax, income tax, or both.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(House Bill 982)
AN ACT to repeal Section 48 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Supplement), title "Courts," subtitle "Salaries
of Judges," and to enact new Section 48 in lieu thereof, to stand
in the place of the section repealed, to remove the supplementation
payment requirements imposed on the County Commissioners of
Allegany, Garrett and Washington Counties with regard to the
various circuit court judges of said Counties and to increase the
salaries of the judges of the Circuit Court for Washington County.
