other counties, except Allegany, Baltimore, Calvert, Frederick, Gar-
rett, Harford, Howard, Charles, St. Mary's and Wicomico Counties,
five dollars per day for each and every day they shall attend the
several courts of this State as jurors and fifteen cents for each mile
over five miles for going to and returning from the court, once in each
term, to be paid by the counties, respectively, in which courts are
held. In Baltimore County, jurors shall receive per diem compensa-
tion in such amount as shall be set, from time to time, by the judges
of the Circuit Court of Baltimore County. Jurors in Frederick
County shall receive at least eight dollars per day for each and every
day they shall attend the Circuit Court of Frederick County as jurors
and a reasonable amount in the discretion of the County Commis-
sioners, for each mile going to and returning from the court.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965 JANUARY 1, 1966.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 37 (a) and
38 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1964
Supplement, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," as last amended by Chapter 298 and 622 of the Acts of
1961; increasing the compensation of the County Commissioners of
Charles County, and increasing the authorized additional compensa-
tion of the chairman of the Commissioners.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 37(a) and 38 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Charles County (1964 Supplement, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," as last amended by Chapters 298 and 622
of the Acts of 1961, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
37(a).
The County Commissioners of Charles County shall receive an
annual compensation of [$3,000] $6,000 $5,000 each for their services
as such Commissioners. Said Commissioners shall be in their offices
for the transaction of business on Tuesday and Wednesday of each
week, excluding legal holidays.
38.
The County Commissioners are hereby authorized in their discre-
tion to appoint one member of the County Commissioners as chairman
of the Commissioners, who shall be a full-time Commissioner and who
shall receive in addition to the compensation provided for by law, the
additional sum of [$3,000] $6,000 $5,000 annually.
