by the said Commissioner shall from any cause prove insufficient for
the necessary expenses for the current year, the said Commissioner
is authorized and empowered to issue certificates and raise money
therefrom, as hereinbefore provided, to meet the said exigency; pro-
vided, however, that no additional issue shall exceed the sum of fifty
thousand dollars in any one year, and that the amount thereof shall
be added to the estimate, assessment and levy for the year next en-
suing, and that the said certificates shall not be made payable at an
earlier day than twelve months from the date of their issue, but may
be receivable in payment of city taxes at any time they may be so
presented [.] and further provided, that notwithstanding any other
provision of law to the contrary the Police Commissioner shall be
subject to the provisions of the Baltimore City Charter (1964 Edi-
tion), as the same may be amended from time to time, relating to
purchasing, accounting and disbursement of funds appropriated to
the Police Department of Baltimore City in the Ordinance of Esti-
mates of Baltimore City.

THE POLICE COMMISSIONER AND THE POLICE DEPART-
MENT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE GENERAL PROVISIONS
CONCERNING PURCHASING, ACCOUNTING, AND THE DIS-
BURSEMENT OF FUNDS CONTAINED IN THE BALTIMORE
CITY CHARTER (1964 EDITION, AS IT MAY BE AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME).
SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT ALL LAWS
AND PARTS OF LAWS INCONSISTENT WITH THE PROVI-
SIONS OF THIS ACT ARE REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF
SUCH INCONSISTENCY.
Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal Section 549 of the Charter and Public Local Laws
of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Police Commissioner,"
subtitle "Miscellaneous," said section relating to the duty of the
Police Commissioner of Baltimore City to purchase uniforms for
members of the Police Department of Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 549 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Police Commissioner," subtitle "Miscellaneous,"
be and it is hereby repealed.
