Except as otherwise provided in this Act, the provisions of law
relating to absentee voting by ballot delivered to the applicant at
the office of the board shall apply also to the casting and counting
of ballots and challenging of votes by new residents, the furnishing
of election supplies, ballots, canvassing of ballots, and making proper
returns of the results of the election.
300.
Whenever it appears to any registration official of this State, that
an otherwise qualified person seeking to register has not been a
resident of this State for the requisite period, such official shall
inform such person of his rights under this Act. Every registrar
shall inform each applicant under this Act of the requisites and
procedures for registration as a fully qualified voter.
301.
As used in this Act, "state" includes the District of Columbia
and "presidential election" means an election at which electors of
president and vice-president are elected.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 318
(House Bill 187)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 99 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrate
System," to permit the judges of the People's Court of Prince
George's County to designate the time and location of traffic school.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 99 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle
"Trial Magistrate System," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
99.
The judges of the People's Court of Montgomery County, except the
People's Court judge for juvenile causes, and the judges of the
People's Court of Prince George's County, shall have all the authority,
powers, civil, criminal and juvenile jurisdiction (except the judges of
the People's Court of Prince George's County shall not have juvenile
jurisdiction), in the whole of said counties, heretofore vested in the
justices of the peace designated as trial magistrates and other justices
of the peace of said counties; provided the authority, powers and
jurisdiction heretofore, or as may hereafter be vested in said other
justices of the peace shall be unaffected by this provision.
