shall be satisfied that such sale would be for the benefit of the
minor or advantageous to his estate. The proceedings shall be by
petition for authority to have such property appraised, including
the parcel to be sold, a petition for an order to sell and a report of
sale and such sale shall not be valid or effectual unless ratified and
confirmed by the orphans' court after notice by publication given
in the same manner as practiced in cases of sales of lands under
decrees in equity. [For the purpose of this section, the orphans'
court shall have the additional jurisdiction to appoint guardians
for females between eighteen and twenty-one years of age. This
section shall not be construed as changing the rights of female wards
to receive their estates upon attaining the age of eighteen years.]

211.

On a ward's arrival at age, for on the marriage of a female
ward,] the guardian shall exhibit a final account to the orphans'
court, and shall deliver up, agreeably to the court's order, to the
said ward, all the property of such ward in his hands, including
bonds and other securities; and on failure, his bond may be put in
suit, and he shall be liable to attachment and fine not exceeding
three hundred dollars [; and a female shall be of age at twenty-one
years, for the purposes of this section].

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
act shall not affect the rights of any person who shall have attained
the age of eighteen years, or married before June 1, 1965.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 258
(House Bill 76)

AN ACT to add new Section 11 (c) to Article 63 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Mechanics' Lien,"
to follow immediately after Section 11 (b) thereof; and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 12 of said Article 63 under the
same title, liberalizing in certain cases the requirements of notice of
intention to claim a mechanic's lien.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 11 (c) be and it is hereby added to Article 63 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Mechanics' Lien," to follow immediately after Section 11 (b) thereof;
and that Section 12 of said Article 63 and title, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read as follows:

(c) Notice given to the person appearing as taxpayer in the assess-
ment books of the county where the lot is situated shall constitute
sufficient notice to all actual owners.
