CHAPTER 241
(House Bill 547)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11 (n)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer Licenses," to
allow Class D Beer licenses to be issued in Dorchester County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 11 (n) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Beer
Licenses," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and to read as follows:

11.

(n) This section shall not apply to Baltimore City, nor to Anne
Arundel, Baltimore, [Dorchester] Frederick, Harford, Somerset, and
Talbot counties, in all of which jurisdictions such licenses shall not
be issued.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 242
(House Bill 550)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (o)
(2) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition and 1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriff's," subtitle
"Compensation and Duties," to provide for an increase from
$1,000 to $1,500, the expenses for traveling, transportation or
use of motor vehicles of the Deputy Sheriff of Montgomery County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (o) (2) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, (1957 Edition and 1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and Duties," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:

37.

(o) (2) The Sheriff of Montgomery County shall appoint not
less than sixteen deputy sheriffs, who shall provide motor vehicles
for their own use in performing their duties, and who shall be
paid by the County Council. Each of said deputy sheriffs shall
receive the sum of $4,200 per year, payable in equal monthly
installments, and such additional salary as may be determined
from time to time by the County Council, and, in addition, each
of said deputy sheriffs, shall be paid by the County Council an
annual sum of [$1,000] fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) in equal
