ratt's Election District (No. 9); thence, with and along the western-
most boundary of said Surratt's Election District (No. 9), and the
centerline of Tippett Road, in a northerly direction to the centerline
of Piscataway Road; thence, in a northeasterly direction, with and
along the centerline of said Piscataway Road, to its point of inter-
section with the centerline of Steed Road; thence, in a northwesterly
direction, with and along the centerline of said Steed Road, to its
point of intersection with the centerline of Allentown Road; thence,
in a northerly direction, with and along the centerline of said Allen-
town Road, to its point of intersection with the centerline of Palmer
Road; thence, in a westerly and southerly direction, with and along
the centerline of said Palmer Road, to its point of intersection with
the Hunters Mill Branch of Broad Creek; thence, with and along
the centerline of said Hunters Mill Branch of Broad Creek, in a
westerly direction, to its point of intersection with Broad Creek;
thence, with the centerline of said Broad Creek and also the boundary
line of the Oxon Hill Election District (No. 12), in a southerly and
westerly direction, to the point of beginning.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 881
(House Bill 178)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6 of
Article 32A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Department of Law," subtitle "In General," to change MAK-
ING PROVISION FOR the sources for payment of the salaries
of special assistant attorneys general and special attorneys of the
State Law Department and to specify IN CERTAIN INSTANCES
the location of the offices of the special assistant attorneys general
and special attorneys of the Department of Law and to correct
an error therein, , AND PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN
THE SALARY OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, AND RELAT-
ING GENERALLY TO THE ORGANIZATION OF THE STATE
LAW DEPARTMENT.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 of Article 32A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Department of Law," subtitle "In General,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

6.

The Attorney General shall receive a salary of [$12,000.00]
$15,000.00 per year. He is authorized to appoint six assistants, one
