Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 141
(House Bill 240)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 118 (d) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Restrictions Upon Licen-
sees," to increase the maximum fine which may be imposed in
Kent County for violations of the law prohibiting possession by
minors of alcoholic beverages.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 118(d) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Restric-
tions Upon Licensees," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

118.

(d) In Kent County, it shall be unlawful for any person under the
age of twenty-one years to possess or have upon his person any
alcoholic beverages except that this provision shall not apply to such
a person who in the regular course of employment to deliver merchan-
dise and other articles may be called upon to deliver a sealed con-
tainer with alcoholic beverages to the person ordering the same.
Any minor having such alcoholic beverages in his possession as afore-
said shall upon conviction be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
shall be fined not more than [fifty dollars ($50.00)] one hundred
dollars ($100.00).

The trial magistrate shall have original jurisdiction to hear any
violation of this subsection, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 142
(House Bill 273)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 5-18 and
5-19 of Article IV of the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick
County (1959 Edition, being Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick County," subtitle "Chapter 5.
Courts," subheading "Article IV. Juries and Jurors," to change
obsolete terminology and to remove requirement that jurors be
paid immediately after adjournment of court.
