AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 255 (b)
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Home Improvement
Law" to restrict the number of contractors a salesman licensed
under the Home Improvement Law shall represent at any one
time under a license.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 255 (b) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Home
Improvement Law," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
255.
(b) A salesman's license shall be issued to an individual or natural
person only. [Such license shall not be limited as to the number of
contractors a salesman may represent at any time,] A salesman may
represent no more than two contractors under AT any one license
TIME, but no such license shall be issued unless the Commission has
received from a contractor licensed under the provisions of this sub-
title a written notice of appointment or employment signed by both
the contractor and the salesman. No person shall act as a salesman,
and no contractor shall authorize any person to act as a salesman for
him, unless such notice is received by the Commission. At the time
of termination of the appointment or employment of a salesman, the
contractor shall notify the Commission in writing of the same.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
May JUNE 1, 1965.
