and "Montgomery County," subtitle "Washington Suburban Sani-
tary District," as said Sections were last repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, by Chapter 654 172 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1959 1965, adding new provisions pro-
viding for the power of appointment of all CERTAIN of the
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commissioners to be solely in the
county council for Montgomery County and county commissioners
of Prince George's County and giving said county council and
commissioners the power of removal of its respective appointed
commissioners for cause after a public hearing. It is provided
further that the selection of the commissioners by the Montgomery
County Council shall be from a public list to be closed three weeks
before appointment MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND GIVING

POWER OF REMOVAL OF ITS APPOINTED COMMISSION-
ERS, FOR CAUSE AND AFTER A PUBLIC HEARING; AND
RELATING TO THE PROCEDURE FOR THESE APPOINT-
MENTS AND REMOVALS.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 83-57 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition) and Section 73-44 of the Montgomery
County Code (1960 Edition) being Articles 17 and 16, respectively,
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles "Prince George's
County" and "Montgomery County," subtitle "Washington Suburban
Sanitary District," as said Sections were last repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, by Chapter 654 172 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1959 1965, are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this article, said
sanitary district shall be under the jurisdiction of a commission of
six members [, to be named by the Governor of Maryland.] [The
Governor shall appoint one from Prince George's County and one
from Montgomery County of his own selection; the Governor shall
appoint two members from nominations made by the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County; and the Governor shall appoint
two members from nominations made by the County Council of
Montgomery County, the first appointments hereunder to be made
on or before June 1, 1959, upon which date the terms of office shall
begin.] From June 1, 1965, and thereafter, as the terms of each
present Montgomery County Commissioner or Prince George's County
Commissioner expires, or as the commission membership becomes
vacant of commissioners from Montgomery County or Prince George's
County, the three new commission members, or member, from each
county shall be appointed solely by the County Council for Mont-
gomery County, Maryland, and the County Commissioners for Prince
George's County, respectively, and subsequently, such right to ap-
point in each county three of the commission members shall be and
continue solely within the power of the County Council for Mont-
gomery County and the County Commissioners for Prince George's
County respectively. Of the respective appointments of Montgomery
County and Prince George's County, not more than two in each
