CHAPTER 104
(Senate Bill 193)
AN ACT to repeal Section 165 of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
sub-title "Plumbers", repealing an obsolete and inapplicable local
law of St. Mary's County concerning the employment of certain
plumbers or mechanics.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 165 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title
"Plumbers", be and it is hereby repealed, as follows:
[165. Every person shall have the power and authority to employ
an unlicensed plumber or a mechanic to do for such person repair
work about his premises situated in Montgomery, Talbot and St.
Mary's counties, Maryland, such as the repair of pumps, windmills,
pipes, machinery and work of like nature, and such plumber or me-
chanic shall not be compelled to take out any "Master Plumber Cer-
tificate", "Journeyman Plumber's Certificate", or "Apprentice
Plumber's Certificate"; provided, however, that if the said premises
are situated in any town, village or city in said county of more than
one thousand inhabitants and the repair work to be done is plumbing
work, then it shall not be lawful for any person to perform such work
unless he has first taken out a plumber's certificate as provided in
the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1910, Chapter 436.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 40 and 41
of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Circuit Court"; to
repeal Section 42 thereof, as last amended by Chapter 812 of the
Acts of 1941; to repeal Section 43 thereof; to repeal Section 45B
thereof as enacted by Chapter 139 of the Acts of 1931, and to
repeal Section 45B thereof as enacted by Chapter 304 of the Acts
of 1957, generally amending or repealing portions of local laws of
St. Mary's County concerning the Circuit Court, the Speedy Judg-
ment Act, the clerk of the court, and court stenographers or
reporters, in order to remove certain obsolete, incorrect or inappli-
cable provisions therefrom.
