CHAPTER 723
(House Bill 582)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, SECTION 6 (I)
AND Section 20 (n) of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Unemployment In-
surance Law," subtitle SUBTITLES "BENEFITS" AND "Defini-
tions," RESPECTIVELY, TO PROVIDE THAT RECEIPT OF
OR ELIGIBILITY FOR VACATION ALLOWANCE OR PAY
SHALL NOT DISQUALIFY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENE-
FITS, AND to change the definition of wages under the unemploy-
ment insurance law.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That Section 20 (n) of Article 95A of the Annotate Code of Mary-

land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Unemployment Insurance

Law," subtitle "Definitions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-

enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

THAT SECTIONS 7 (I) 6 (I) AND 20 (N) (N) OF ARTICLE 95A
OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1964 REPLACE-
MENT VOLUME), TITLE "UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE
LAW," SUBTITLES "BENEFITS" AND "DEFINITIONS,"
RESPECTIVELY, BE AND THEY ARE HEREBY REPEALED
AND RE-ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS, TO READ AS
FOLLOWS:

(I) DISMISSAL PAYMENT OR WAGES IN LIEU OF
NOTICE;—FOR ANY WEEK WITH RESPECT TO WHICH HE
IS RECEIVING. HAS RECEIVED, OR HAS FILED, OR IS
ELIGIBLE TO FILE A CLAIM FOR REMUNERATION IN AN
AMOUNT EQUAL TO OR IN EXCESS OF HIS WEEKLY BENE-
FIT AMOUNT IN THE FORM OF DISMISSAL PAYMENT OR
WAGES IN LIEU OF NOTICE WHETHER LEGALLY RE-
QUIRED OR NOT, SUCH PAYMENTS TO BE ALLOCATED TO
A NUMBER OF WEEKS FOLLOWING SEPARATION FROM
EMPLOYMENT EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF WEEKS' PAY
RECEIVED.

PROVIDED, THAT IF SUCH REMUNERATION IS LESS
THAN HIS WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT, AN OTHERWISE
ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUAL SHALL NOT BE DEEMED INELI-
GIBLE AND SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE FOR SUCH
WEEK BENEFITS REDUCED BY THE AMOUNT OF SUCH
PAYMENTS. ANY BENEFIT PAYMENT REDUCED BECAUSE
OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL CONSTITUTE
A FULL WEEK'S BENEFITS FOR THE PURPOSES OF COM-
PUTING DURATION DURING THE BENEFIT YEAR.

20.

(n) "Wages" means all remuneration for personal services, in-
cluding commissions and bonuses and the cash value of all compensa-
tion in any medium other than cash. The reasonable cash value of
compensation in any medium other than cash shall be estimated and
