lated contributions shall be transferred from the Annuity Savings
Fund to the Annuity Reserve Fund.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 719
(House Bill 584)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 249 (g)
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Home Improvement
Law," to delete the telephone solicitation provision in the definition
"Salesman" under the Home Improvement Law rendered ineffec-
tive by Section 256 (4) of said law exempting a solicitor for a
contractor who makes contact with an owner by telephone only
from the licensing provisions of said law.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 249 (g) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Home
Improvement Law," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

249.

(g) "Salesman" means any individual who (i) negotiates or
offers to negotiate a home-improvement contract with an owner, or
(ii) solicits or otherwise endeavors to procure [by telephone or!
in person, a home-improvement contract from an owner on behalf
of a contractor, or for himself should the salesman be also the
contractor, whether or not such person is licensed or subject to
the licensing requirements of this subtitle.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 720
(House Bill 586)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 266 of
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Home Improvement
Law," to remove the "substantial" qualification regarding a false
statement made on a completion certificate or other evidence
as to the completion of a home improvement contract at the
time it is transferred or assigned for payment under the penalty
provision thereof.
