We respectfully propose, with your concurrence, the appointment of
a joint committee of five members, three on the part of the House and two
on the part of the Senate, to wait upon the Governor and inform him that
the General Assembly is now organized and prepared to receive any
communications he may desire to make.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Quinn, Long and
Butler.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your Message notifying the Senate of the organiza-
tion of your Honorable Body, and proposing a joint committee of five
members, three on the part of the House and two on the part of the
Senate, to wait upon the Governor and inform him that the General As-
sembly is now prepared to receive any communications which he may desire
to make.

We concur in your proposal for the appointment of a joint committee
of five members, and have appointed on the part of the Senate, Senators
Dean and Mach.

We desire to inform you that the Senate of Maryland is organized,
The Honorable William S. James having been elected President and J.
Waters Parrish having been elected Secretary of the Senate.
