House Bill No. 53—By Delegates Lowe, T. H., Mandel and Harris:

A Bill entitled: An Act to repeal Sections 83(b) and 83(c) of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Elections,"
subtitle "Presidential Conventions"; and to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 85(c) of said Article and subtitle, amending the
laws concerning the State and National Conventions held as part of the
nominating process for President and Vice President of the United States
in order to remove the requirements now binding the delegates thereto to
vote for a certain candidate.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Rules.

House Bill No. 54—By the Howard County Delegation:

A Bill entitled: An Act to repeal Sections 116, 117, 118, 119 and
120 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County (1957 Edition,
being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Howard County," subtitle "Housing Code," and to enact new Sections
116, 117, 118, 119 and 120 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
sections so repealed, revising the provisions concerning the so-called
Housing Code of Howard County, and relating generally to the powers
