Senator Malkus, for the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, reported
favorably, with amendments,

House Bill No. 54—By the Howard County Delegation:

Subject: "HOWARD COUNTY," subtitle "HOUSING CODE," RE-
LATING GENERALLY TO THE POWERS OF THE COUNTY COM-
MISSIONERS.

Amendments to House Bill No. 54
By the Judicial Proceedings Committee:

Amendment No. 1—In lines 12 and 13 of Section 116 on page 1 of the
third reading file bill, strike out the words "and such number of inspectors,
assistants, stenographers, clerical and" and insert in lieu thereof the words
"and such".

Which amendment was read and adopted.

Amendment No. 2—In line 3 of Section 117 on page 2 of the third
reading file bill, after the word "charges" add the words "not to exceed
$5.00 per unit"; and in lines 6, 7 and 8, strike out beginning with the
words "and from" in line 6 down to and including the word "necessary"
in line 8; and in lines 14 and 15, strike out beginning with the words
"which shall" in line 14, down to and including the word "necessary" in
line 15; and in lines 18 and 19, strike out the words "including, but not
limited to, the information stating" and insert in lieu thereof the words
". The information shall be limited to"; and in line 21, strike out the
word "and"; and in line 22, after the word "used" add the words "; and
such structural data as he may deem necessary,"; and in line 25, strike out
the words "or building containing only one dwelling unit".

Amendment No. 3—In lines 12, 13 and 14 of Section 117 (b) on
page 2 of the third reading file bill, strike out beginning with the numerals
"$25" in line 12, down to and including the word "Court" in line 14 and
insert in lieu thereof the following: "Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)".

Amendment No. 4—In line 21 of Section 118 on page 3 of the third
reading file bill, strike out the word "full"; and in line 23, after the word
"description" add the following: ", with the consent of the owner after
giving him due notice,".

Amendment No. 5—In line 6 of Section 118 (b) on page 3 of the
third reading file bill, after the word "meeting," add the following: "held
after the holding of a public hearing, said meeting to be duly advertised
for three weeks in advance in one or more newspapers of general circu-
lation in the county".
