plumbing code for the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 338A be and it is hereby added to Article 43 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Health", sub-
title "Plumbing", to follow immediately after Section 338 thereof,
and to read as follows:

338 A.

The provisions of this sub-title shall not apply to Worcester
County after such time as the County Commissioners of said county
adopt a plumbing code for Worcester County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

Approved April 30, 1963.

CHAPTER 550
(Senate Bill 551)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1 of
Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Interracial Commission", sub-title "Commission to Study
Problems Affecting the Colored Population", prescribing that new
appointments to the Interracial Commission shall be according to
certain residence requirements.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 49B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Interracial Commission", sub-title "Commis-
sion to Study Problems Affecting the Colored Population", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

1. There is hereby created a Commission on Interracial Problems
and Relations, to consist of nine members who shall be appointed
by the Governor for a term of six years, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate. Of the members first appointed, three shall be
for a term of two years, three for a term of four years and three for
a term of six years but thereafter, their successors shall be ap-
pointed for terms of six years. The Governor shall designate the
chairman of said Commission. In case of any vacancy, the Governor
shall appoint a successor for the unexpired term. As of June 1, 1963,
the vacancies which occur in the membership of said Commission,
either by expiration of the term of appointment or otherwise, shall
be filled according to the following residence requirements such that
within six years following June 1, 1963, the composition of the
Commission shall be: one member shall be from Caroline, Cecil,
Kent, Queen Anne's or Talbot counties; one member shall be from
Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester or Somerset counties; three mem-
bers shall be from Baltimore City; one member shall be from Alle-
