within the State of Maryland, except such as may be open before
June 1, 1955, but provided further, that any branch office or offices
open on [March] June 1, 1955, may thereafter be moved to a new
location within the same county and within a radius of one mile of
the location of such branch office or offices. UPON COMPLIANCE
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF APPLICATION, OPPORTU-
NITY FOR PROTEST AND HEARING BEFORE THE DIRECTOR
OF BUILDING, SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATIONS AND
UPON APPROVAL BY THE SAID DIRECTOR, ALL AS IMPOSED
UPON DOMESTIC BUILDING, SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIA-
TIONS BY SECTION 161V OF THIS ARTICLE, SUBJECT TO THE
PROVISIONS AS TO APPEAL CONTAINED IN SECTION 161H
OF THIS ARTICLE.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 795)

AN ACT to add new subsection (c) to Section 274 of Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Tidal Waters," subheading "Further Regu-
lations in County Waters," to follow immediately after subsection

(b)  thereof, permitting use of seines and nets in any creek in
Charles County for the catching of carp and catfish.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new subsection (c) be and it is hereby added to Section 274
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Tidal Waters," subheading "Fur-
ther Regulations in County Waters," to follow immediately after
subsection (b) thereof, and to read as follows:

274.

(c)  It shall be lawful to use licensed haul seines and gill nets at
a distance greater than one-third the distance across a river, creek,
cove or inlet in any of the tributary waters of Charles County for the
purpose of catching carp and catfish only, notwithstanding subsection
(a) of Section 264 and subsection (i) of Section 265, provided that
no such net is so set or used so as to impede or obstruct navigation
or to block in any way the main channel of such river, creek, cove
or inlet. If fish of a variety other than carp or catfish are caught
in any such net or nets they must be immediately returned to the
water unharmed. Any net used specifically for the catching of carp
or catfish under the provisions of this section must be attended at
all times and any net found to be more than one-third the distance
across the waters where it is set without a person in attendance
shall be deemed to be set in violation of the law. Provided further
