93B.

All ANY dogs DOG at large shall MAY fee seized by the Animal Wel-
fare Agency, or such other agency as the County Commissioners may
designate, confined and destroyed
DISPOSED OF (EITHER BY DE-
STROYING OR BEING OFFERED FOR ADOPTION) if not identi-
fied and claimed by its owner within
ten FIVE days after its capture.
No owner may claim his dog unless and until all charges incident to
the confinement of the dog shall be paid. Upon the capture of any
dog the Agency shall notify the owner of its capture if his identity
can be ascertained through license records, if any, or otherwise.

93C.

The County Commissioners shall pay such expenses as are incurred
by the Animal Welfare Agency or other such agency in the enforce-
ment and execution of the requirements in Section 93B from the
general funds of the county.

93D.

The requirements of Sections 93A and 93B shall not apply to a
bona fide farmer's dog while engaged in herding, dogs being used for
hunting or trained for hunting, dogs
ON DUTY OR IN TRAINING
owned by any law enforcement agency of Howard County or any of
its subdivisions, the State of Maryland or the United States of
America.

93E.

THE POLICE MAY DIRECT THE AGENCY TO IMPOUND THE
ANIMAL OF ANY HABITUAL VIOLATOR OF THIS SUBTITLE
SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 93B, HEREOF.

93E F.

Any person who violates this subtitle shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than
five dollars ($5.00), nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for
each offense. Each day the violation continues shall be deemed a
separate offense.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That it is the intent of the
General Assembly that this Act be effectively enforced and to that
end the County Commissioners of Howard County are directed to
implement this Act immediately and the Police are directed to enforce
it immediately.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That any laws inconsistent with
this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
