sale, purchase, or offer to purchase, barter, exchange, or buy at any
time within the State of Maryland any game bird or game animal of
any species (except muskrat, raccoon and opossum) whether same
has been caught or killed within the State of Maryland or in any other
State, territory, or country, except live game may be purchased and
kept in captivity for propagation purposes only upon securing a
permit from the Director, and the payment of two dollars ($2.00).
Said permit shall expire on December 31 of each year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 395
(Senate Bill 433)

AN ACT to add new Section 151A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments,"
subtitle "False Statements," to follow immediately after Section
151 thereof, relating to the offense of knowingly, under certain
circumstances, circulating or transmitting a statement or rumor
concerning the location or possible detonation of a bomb or other
explosive, and relating to the enforcement of this offense and
the punishment therefor.

Section 1. Be it enacted by. the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 151A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "False Statements," to follow immediately
after Section 151 thereof, and to read as follows:

151A.

A person is guilty of a misdemeanor if, knowing the statement or
rumor to be false, he circulates or transmits to another or others,
with intent that it be acted upon, a statement or rumor, written,
printed, or by word of mouth, concerning the location or possible
detonation of a bomb or other explosive. An offense under this sec-
tion committed by the use of a telephone may be deemed to have
been committed either at the place at which the telephone call or
calls were made or at the place at which the telephone call or calls
were received.

A person convicted of violating this section is subject to a fine not
exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.) or to imprisonment for not
exceeding one year, or to both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the Court. This section does not apply to any statement
or rumor made or circulated by an officer, employee, or agent of a
bona fide civilian defense organization or agency, if made in the
regular course of his duties with that organization or agency.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
