tion denoting a unit of land, where appropriate to implement this
subtitle, there shall be deemed inserted after such descriptive terms,
reference to a condominium unit, condominium subdivision, or
horizontal property regime, which ever shall be appropriate to effect
the ends and purposes of this subtitle. Wherever, the application of
the provisions of this subtitle conflict with the application of such
other provisions, this subtitle shall prevail.

142. SEVERABILITY.

If any provision of this subtitle or any section, sentence, clause,
phrase or word or the application thereof, in any circumstances is
held invalid, the validity of the remainder of this subtitle, and of the
application of any such provision, section, sentence, clause, phrase
or word in any other circumstances shall not be affected thereby and
to this end, the provisions of this subtitle are declared to be severable.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 388
(House Bill 85)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5(G) (2)
of Chapter 128 of the Acts of 1962, and to repeal Section 5(G) (3)
of the said Chapter, Chapter 128 being the General Construction
Loan Act of 1962 and being amended in order to change the purpose
of certain monies therein appropriated to the Department of Cor-
rection to permit construction of a dormitory building at the
House of Correction in lieu of a new correctional camp; and
amending Section 9 of Chapter 128 to the extent necessary to
renew the provisions of Section 9 for a period of two years from
the effective date of this Act with respect to the changes herein
made for the Department of Correction.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5(G) (3) of Chapter 128 of the Acts of 1962, be and it
is hereby repealed, and that Section 5(G) (2) of the said Chapter be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Planning and preparation of preliminary plans
and specifications for additional laundry
facilities............................................................ $ 3,500

Construction of dormitory building (500 ca-
pacity) (Equipment to be requested later) $ 1,500,000
