CHAPTER 351
(Senate Bill 427)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 158 (j)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Boards of License Commis-
sioners", increasing the salary range and mileage allowance of the
liquor inspector in Queen Anne's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 158 (j) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Boards
of License Commissioners", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

158.

(j) The board of license commissioners of Queen Anne's County
shall appoint a full-time inspector and fix his compensation at a
figure not less than [twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400.00)]
twenty-seven hundred dollars ($2,700.00) and not more than [three
thousand dollars ($3,000.00)] thirty-three hundred dollars
($3,300.00)
per annum plus an allowance for mileage not to exceed
[three hundred dollars ($300.00)] five hundred dollars ($500.00)
per annum. The said inspector shall have the duty of visiting and
inspecting every premises in Queen Anne's County licensed under
the provisions of this article at least every sixty days. The said board
of license commissioners also shall appoint an attorney to handle
legal matters for the board and set his compensation at not more than
five hundred dollars ($500.00) per annum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 352
(Senate Bill 429)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 39 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Local Licenses and License
Provisions", to establish a definition of a hotel in Queen Anne's
County for purposes of issuing Class B alcoholic beverages licenses
in the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 39 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Local Licenses
and License Provisions", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

39.

(a) The word "restaurant" as used in Section 9 and in Section 19
of this article, when applied to Queen Anne's County, shall mean a
