any person or circumstances, is held invalid, the remainder of the sub-
heading and the application of such provision to persons or circum-
stances other than those as to which it is held invalid, shall not be
affected thereby. The powers conferred by this sub-heading shall be
in addition and supplemental to the powers conferred by any other
law.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(Senate Bill 425)

AN ACT to add new Section 119(1) to Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", to
follow immediately after Section 119 (k) thereof, to authorize the
substitute trial magistrate for Queen Anne's County to sit for the
trial of cases at the same time as the trial magistrate of the county
and relating to the powers and duties of the substitute when so
sitting.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 119(1) be and it is hereby added to Article 52 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace" sub-title "Trial Magistrates Sys-
tem", to follow immediately after Section 119(k) thereof, and to read
as follows:

119.

(l) In Queen Anne's County, notwithstanding the provisions of
this section, the trial magistrate for the county is authorized to
designate the times and places at which the substitute magistrate for
the county may sit for the trial of cases, which may be at the same
time that the trial magistrate is sitting for the trial of cases. When
so designated by the trial magistrate the substitute magistrate shall
have the same power and authority as the trial magistrate and be
subject to the same duties and responsibilities as the trial magistrate.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
