the interest on said notes and/or bonds and for redeeming said notes
and/or bonds as they mature, the County Commissioners of Talbot
County shall annually levy such tax upon the assessable property
of said County as may be necessary to pay the annual interest on
said notes and/or bonds and to redeem said notes and/or bonds as
they become due until all of said notes and/or bonds shall have
matured and been redeemed. The taxes so levied shall be collected
in the same manner as other taxes are levied and collected in said
County.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 234
(House Bill 623)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 25 (a) and
to add new Section 25 (j) to follow immediately after Section 25
(i) thereof, to Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962
Supplement), title "Juries," subtitle "Qualification and Selection
of Jurors," and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
11(a) and 11(b) of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Fees and Officers," subtitle "Bailiffs and
Criers," relating to compensation of jurors, bailiffs and criers in
Dorchester County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 25(a) of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Juries," subtitle "Qualification and Selec-
tion of Jurors," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and that new Section 25 (j) be and it is hereby added
to the said Article and subtitle of the Code, to follow immediately
after Section 25 (i) thereof; and that Sections 11(a) and 11(b) of
Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement),
title "Fees and Officers," subtitle "Bailiffs and Criers," be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

51.

25(a) Jurors in Washington County shall receive eight dollars per
day and a reasonable amount, in the discretion of the County Com-
missioners for each mile over five miles in going to and returning
from court; in [Dorchester,] Kent, Queen Anne's and Caroline coun-
ties, and in Baltimore City, seven dollars and fifty cents per day;
in Somerset County, seven dollars and fifty cents per day; in Anne
Arundel and Montgomery counties, ten dollars per day, and no extra
allowance shall be given either for mileage or overtime in Anne Arun-
del and Montgomery counties; in Carroll County, eight dollars per
day; in Prince George's County, jurors shall receive per diem com-
pensation, not less than five ($5.00) dollars nor more than ten
