CHAPTER 212
(House Bill 637)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 525 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Allegany County," subtitle "Schools," subheading "Teachers
—Pensions," as said section was amended by Chapter 703 of the
Acts of 1959, providing for an increase in the pensions to public
school teachers in Allegany County paid by the Board of County
Commissioners of that county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 525 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany Coun-
ty (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Allegany County," subtitle "Schools," subheading
"Teachers—Pensions," as said section was amended by Chapter 703
of the Acts of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
525.
The County Commissioners shall be and they are hereby authorized
and directed, to pay the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month or
less to any former public school teacher in Allegany County who
qualifies under the provision of this section. Such payments shall be
made only to those former public school teachers who retired while
teaching in the Allegany County School System and who are eligible
to receive less than [One Hundred and Seventy-five Dollars
($175.00)] Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per month, as a regular
retirement allowance from the Board of Trustees of the Maryland
State Teachers' Retirement System or from any other Teachers' Re-
tirement System supported in whole or in part by the State of Mary-
land or Allegany County. Supplemental payment shall not be greater
than the amount required to raise the aforesaid regular annual retire-
ment allowance to [One Hundred and Seventy-five] Two Hundred
Dollars per month. The County Commissioners shall annually levy an
amount sufficient to pay such payments as herein set forth.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 60)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 45 of
Article 59 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Lunatics and Insane," subtitle "Department of Mental Hy-
giene," amending the laws concerning the escheat of certain un-
claimed funds of patients or inmates of State hospitals in order
to add thereto a provision for the escheat of the valuable articles
on OR personal property of the patient or inmate, under certain con-
ditions; relating generally to the escheat of certain funds, valuable
