by this subtitle.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 194
(House Bill 289)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 112 of
Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supple-
ment), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—Registra-
tion—Titling," adding the Municipal Courts of Baltimore City
AND THE MAGISTRATE'S COURTS OF BALTIMORE COUN-
TY to those which can sentence persons convicted of operating on
a revoked license for the second time to a sentence of less than
the minimum mandatory requirement.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 112 of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administra-
tion—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

112.

Any person, resident or nonresident, whose operator's or chauf-
feur's license, registration card, or other driving privilege has been
refused, cancelled, suspended, or revoked for any reason as pro-
vided in this article, or as provided in the applicable law of the
jurisdiction which issued the non-resident's license, registration card
or other driving privilege, and who drives any motor vehicle upon
the highways of this State while such license, card or privilege is
refused, cancelled, suspended, or revoked, is guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine of not less than
one hundred ($100.00) dollars nor more than one thousand ($1,000.00)
dollars or by imprisonment for not less than thirty (30) days
nor more than six (6) months, or both such fine and imprisonment.
Upon a second or subsequent conviction under the provisions of
this section, the same penalties shall apply except that imprisonment
for at least 30 days shall be mandatory, provided, however, that
the mandatory provisions of this section may be suspended or
modified by the judges of the circuit courts of the several counties
and the judges of the Municipal and criminal courts of Baltimore
City AND THE MAGISTRATE'S COURT OF BALTIMORE
COUNTY.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
