298                               LAWS OF MARYLAND                        [CH. 164

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 444 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County, (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Mount Sav-
age Special Tax Area", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

444.

[The two members of the said Citizens' Committee of the Mount
Savage Special Tax Area who were elected thereto in April, 1952,
shall continue to hold said positions until the first Monday in April in
the year 1955 or until their successors have been elected and have
qualified, pursuant to the provisions of this sub-title.] On the first
Monday in April, 1953, an election shall be held at which three per-
sons shall be elected to the said Citizens' Committee to serve until the
first Monday in April in the year 1957 or until their successors have
been elected and have qualified pursuant to the provisions of this
sub-title. Beginning on the first Monday in April in the year 1955
and continuing on the same day in every second year thereafter,
there shall be an election to fill the memberships expiring as of that
time. Every such election shall be by ballot in a manner prescribed
by the said committee. Only residents of legal age of the Mount Sav-
age Special Tax Area who shall have resided therein for not less than
six months next preceding said election shall be entitled to vote for
or hold the office of committeemen. No person shall be elected or
chosen for membership on the said committee unless he be the owner
of real property located in the Mount Savage Special Tax Area.
Every person so elected shall qualify as such committeeman by tak-
ing an path before any officer in Allegany County authorized by law
to administer oaths, diligently and faithfully to discharge all duties
of the said office. In case any such person shall fail to qualify within
thirty days after his election as committeeman or in case of any
vacancy in any said office by reason of death, resignation or other-
wise, the remaining committeemen shall fill such vacancy by the ap-
pointment of a resident of the Mount Savage Special Tax Area duly
qualified under the provisions of this sub-title, who shall hold office
for the unexpired portion of the term to which appointed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 164
(Senate Bill 381)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 456 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "ALLEGANY COUNTY", SUB-TITLE "Potomac Park Addi-
tion", amending the local laws of Allegany County relating to
Potomac Park Addition in order to remove obsolete provisions
concerning the Citizens' Committee thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 456 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
