Taxing Area", amending the laws concerning the Cresaptown
Special Taxing Area in order to remove certain obsolete provi-
sions relating to the Cresaptown Civic Improvement Association.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 114 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Cresaptown
Special Taxing Area", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

114. (a) For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this
sub-title, the special taxing area or district herein created shall be
under the jurisdiction of the Cresaptown Civic Improvement Asso-
ciation composed of five persons, each of whom is a resident of said
District, is a qualified voter and the owner of real property to the
value of $500 in said District, and any property owned as tenants
by the entireties shall be considered as the property of the individual.
[Harry Wright, Gordon Garis, Lester Sherman, Herbert Logsdon
and Christian Skidmore shall constitute the initial membership of
the Association, with Harry Wright as Chairman.] Each of the
[above named persons] members shall qualify before any officer in
Allegany County authorized by law to administer oaths by subscrib-
ing to an oath that he will diligently and faithfully discharge all
duties of the said office. In case any such person [shall fail to qualify
within thirty days after March 31,1949, or if any of their successors]
shall fail to qualify within thirty days after his election as a member
of the Association, as hereinafter provided, or in case of any vacancy
through death, resignation, or otherwise, the remaining members of
said Association shall fill such vacancy by the appointment of a resi-
dent of said District having the qualifications hereinabove prescribed
who shall hold office for such term, or unexpired term, or until the
next election.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 162
(Senate Bill 379)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 285 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955 Edition, being
Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Allegany County", sub-title "Juvenile Court", amending the local
laws of Allegany County in order to correct an error in the defi-
nitions applicable under the juvenile court law.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 285 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County
(1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Juvenile Court", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
