Whereas, The necessary operations of the Sanitary Commission
of Anne Arundel County are now financed by the issuance of bonds;
and
Whereas, It is possible and wise to adopt an alternative method of
financing the operations of the Sanitary Commission in order to make
unnecessary the issuance of bonds; now, therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 22-58A be and it is hereby added to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1957 Edition and 1961 Supplement), being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne
Arundel County," subtitle "Waters and Sewers," to read as follows:
22-58 A.
For the purpose of meeting the operating expenses or of financing
any proper activity of the Sanitary Commission, the County Com-
missioners are authorized, upon the request of the Sanitary Com-
mission, to levy and collect a utilities tax, NOT IN EXCESS OF FIVE
CENTS (.05) PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) OF
ASSESSED VALUE, on all of the property assessed for county tax
purposes within the sanitary district in such amount as the County
Commissioners deem necessary or appropriate to effectuate the pur-
pose or purposes for which the tax was requested. Any such tax shall
be levied and collected, shall have the same priority right and bear
the same interest and penalties, and shall be treated in all other
respects as other county taxes. Amounts collected therefrom shall be
paid to the Sanitary Commission as required.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, subsections (e)
and (f) of Section 74 of Article 2B, of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition, and 1962 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Bever-
ages," subtitle "Rights and Duties of Licensees," amending alco-
holic beverages laws applicable to Anne Arundel County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That subsections (e) and (f) of Section 74 of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, and 1962 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Rights and Duties of Licensees,"
be and are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
