PARED OR PRESENTED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
ACT BY THE MUNICIPALITY KNOWN AS LAUREL SHALL
NOT CONFLICT WITH, AND MUST CONFORM TO THE
MASTER PLAN FOR PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. THIS PRO-
VISION SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO MEAN THAT ALL URBAN
RENEWAL PLANS EFFECTING A CHANGE IN ZONING
SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE MARYLAND-NATIONAL
CAPITAL PARK AND PLANNING COMMISSION, AND ANY
ZONING AMENDMENTS PURSUANT TO THIS URBAN RE-
NEWAL PROGRAM MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT
COUNCIL.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 685)

AN ACT to add eleven new sections under the new subheading "Re-
development—Urban Renewal" to the Charter of the Town of
Glenarden as said charter is contained in the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition, as amended, being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Prince George's County," subtitle "Glenarden," to authorize and
empower the Mayor and City Council of Glenarden to carry out
urban renewal projects and the redevelopment, rehabilitation of
slum or blighted areas, including the acquisition of property for
such purposes with certain provisions in regard to such acquisi-
tion by the exercise of the power of eminent domain; declaring
such activities to constitute functions in furtherance of which the
Mayor and City Council of Glenarden may exercise the power of
taxation, spend public funds and extend public credit; granting to
the Mayor and City Council of Glenarden certain additional powers
and authority necessary or proper to carry into full force or effect
the powers hereinabove mentioned and to place certain restrictions
and limitations on certain powers granted.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That eleven new sections be and they are hereby added to the Charter
of the Town of Glenarden as said charter is contained in the Code
of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition, as
amended, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Prince George's County," subtitle "Glenarden," to be
under the new subheading "Redevelopment—Urban Renewal," and
to read as follows:

1. Definitions.

(a) The following terms wherever used or referred to in this sub-
heading shall have the following meanings, unless a different mean-
ing is clearly indicated by the context:
