J. MILLARD TAWES, Governor                     1571

construed to prevent the operation upon any street, road or high-
way in this State, of a motor vehicle loaded with tobacco hogsheads
and having an over-all width when loaded not in excess of one
hundred and three (103) inches.

Providing further that nothing in this subsection shall be con-
strued to prevent the operation upon any street, road or highway
in this State of farm equipment, implements of husbandry, or
motor vehicles transporting farm equipment or implements of
husbandry, so long as the operator of said motor vehicle
HAULING,
farm equipment or implement of husbandry has acquired a permit
from the State Police
DISTRICT ENGINEER OF THE STATE
ROADS COMMISSION FOR THE AREA INVOLVED authorizing
such operation. A person desiring to operate over sized farm equip-
ment, implements of husbandry, or motor
MOTOR vehicles trans-
porting over-sized farm equipment or implements of husbandry may
apply to any State Police station for a
SUCH DISTRICT ENGINEER
permit, at no charge, granting him the authority to operate HAUL
such over-sized vehicle, equipment or implement on State PUBLIC
roads between two designated points on a designated date. The officer
SAID DISTRICT ENGINEER MAY IN HIS DISCRETION ISSUE
SUCH in charge of each State Police station may, in his discretion,
issue such
permits. The holder of such a permit, when operating
HAULING the over-sized vehicle, equipment or implement, shall have
the permit on his person at the time of the operation, and shall obey
all traffic laws of this State.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 766
(House Bill 300)

AN ACT to add new Section 39D to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License Pro-
visions," to follow immediately after Section 39C thereof and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 90 (b) (2) of the
said Article of the Code (1962 Supplement), subtitle "Hours and
Days for Sale," to authorize the issuance of certain alcoholic
beverage licenses for Sunday sales in Queen Anne's County and
relating generally to alcoholic beverages in the county; AND
MAKING THE EFFECT OF THIS ACT SUBJECT TO A REF-
ERENDUM.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 39D be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License
Provisions," to follow immediately after Section 39C thereof; and
that Section 90(b) (2) of the said Article of the Code (1962 Supple-
ment), subtitle "Hours and Days for Sale," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
