CHAPTER 82
(Senate Bill 205)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 15 and 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Allegany County", sub-title "Billiards", amending and clarify-
ing the local laws of Allegany County with respect to the licensing
and use of certain billiard tables therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 15 and 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Billiards", be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

15.    It shall be unlawful for any person in Allegany County having
a license to keep a billiard table or tables, under Section 14, Article
56 of [the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland (1951 Ed.),]
this Code, (1957 EDITION, as amended from time to time), title
"Licenses", sub-title "Billiards", to allow any one to play on or use
said table or tables between the hours of twelve o'clock midnight and
six o'clock in the morning. Nor shall any one except the proprietor or
his bona fide employee be allowed to loiter or loaf in that part of the
room where said table or tables are kept, during said closing hours
or on the Lord's Day, commonly called Sunday, and said room shall
be open to public view during the said closing hours. Nor shall any-
one under the age of sixteen years be allowed to use said table or
tables or to frequent, loiter or loaf in said part of room, where said
table or tables are kept.

Anyone violating the provisions of this section shall be fined not
less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) for each and every violation of this section.

16.    Young Men's Christian Associations and other educational
and benevolent institutions in Allegany [and Frederick Counties]
County are hereby exempted from the provisions of Sections [four-
teen (14) and fifteen (15) of Article 56 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland (1951 Ed.), title "Licenses", sub-title "Billiards",
as said sections were repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 525 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1892.] 14 and 15 of
Article 56 of
this Code, as they may be THE CODE OF PUBLIC
GENERAL LAWS OF MARYLAND (1957 EDITION, AS amended
from time to time).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
