between the exterior jets thereon not to exceed thirty-six (36) inches.
The water jet pipe at each end of the manifold shall be set parallel
to, or inclined inward toward, the median vertical longitudinal plane
of the dredge.

(1)   ALL HYDRAULIC OR MECHANICAL CLAM DREDGES
OPERATING UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION
SHALL HAVE PROPERLY INSTALLED MUFFLERS ON ALL
ENGINES USED IN THE OPERATION OF SAID BOAT OR HY-
DRAULIC OR MECHANICAL CLAM DREDGE. THE COMMIS-
SION OF TIDEWATER FISHERIES MAY REQUIRE SUCH
MODIFICATIONS TO THE HYDRAULIC OR MECHANICAL
CLAM DREDGE AND/OR LICENSED DREDGE BOATS AS MAY
BE DEMONSTRATED TO BE IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST
THROUGH RESEARCH IN THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH
AND EDUCATION AND RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION BY
THE LATTER AGENCY.

(2)   ANY PERSON VIOLATING ANY PROVISION OF THIS
SUBTITLE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR
AND UPON CONVICTION THEREOF SHALL BE FINED NOT
LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) NOR MORE THAN TWEN-
TY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 695
(House Bill 810)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 85 (a)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Hours and Days for Sale,"
removing Carroll County from the general provisions prescribing
when alcoholic beverages may be sold.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 85 (a) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Hours
and Days for Sale," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

85.

(a) The hours during which the privileges conferred by a Class A
beer, wine and liquor license may be exercised shall be from 6 o'clock
A. M. to 12 o'clock midnight, on every day except Sunday. Provided,
that (1) in Annapolis the hours may be fixed by the mayor, counsellor
and aldermen of the City of Annapolis, (2) [in Carroll County the
hours shall be from 8 o'clock A. M. to 9 o'clock P. M., (3) ] in Cecil
County the hours shall be from 6 o'clock A. M. to 11 o'clock P. M.,
and [(4)] (3) in Talbot County the hours shall be from 8 o'clock
A. M. to 12 o'clock midnight.
