District, seven (7), and of the names of the persons so selected, and
the respective districts from which they have been selected, a list
shall he made, and a certificate appended thereto by said judge or
judges, certifying that said list of names have been selected in con-
formity with and according to the spirit of this sub-title, and the
said list and certificate shall be filed with the clerk of the said court
and by him be preserved as other proceedings of the said court
are kept.

When said list of names, selected as by directed by the preceding
section of this sub-title is made and certified as hereinbefore provided,
immediately thereupon the judge or judges of said court, in the pres-
ence of the members of the Bar as aforesaid, and such other persons
as may attend, shall cause all the names selected and placed on the
list as aforesaid, to be legibly written on ballots of the same size,
and the same color and appearance, which shall he closely folded and
placed by said judge or judges with their own hands into a box, to
be procured for the purpose by the clerk of said court, under the di-
rection of the judge or judges of said court, which box shall have a
length of not exceeding thirty-six inches, width not exceeding eight
inches and depth not exceeding five inches, and its length shall be
divided into nine equal compartments fitted with drawers, which
shall be numbered to correspond with the number of the election dis-
trict in said county and. the names of the persons selected as afore-
said shall be placed in said drawers as follows: The fourteen (14)
names selected from the First District, in number one; the fifteen
(15) names from the Second District in number two; the fifty
(50) names from, the Third District in number three; the thirteen
(13) names from the Fourth District in number four; the thirty-one
(31) names from the Fifth District in number five; the nineteen
(19) names from the Sixth District in number six; the forty-five
(45) names from the Seventh District in number seven; the six (6)
names from the Eighth District in number eight, and seven (7)
names from the Ninth District in number nine; and after so deposit-
ing said ballots the said box shall be closed, and the judge or judges
shall cause the clerk of said court, or one of his deputies, whom the
judge or judges shall designate, and who shall not have been present
at the writing, folding and depositing of said ballots into the box, as
herein directed, to appear for him or them, and then and there, in the
presence of said judge or judges and such other persons as may
choose to be presented, to draw, without looking into the same, from
said box forty-eight (48) names, as follows: four (4) from drawer
number one, four (4) from drawer number two, twelve (12) from
drawer number three; three (3) from drawer number four, five (5)
from drawer number five, five (5) from drawer number six, nine
(9) from drawer number seven, three (3) from drawer number
eight and three (3) from drawer number nine, and the names appear-
ing on the ballots so drawn shall be recorded by the clerk of the said
court in the presence of the judge or judges, in the order drawn, and
immediately thereupon said judge or judges shall order a venire
facias, directed to the sheriff of said county, commanding him to sum-
mon as jurors, to attend at the first day of the next ensuing term of
court the forty-eight persons whose names shall be drawn as afore-
said, and if any of the persons so drawn be dead, sick or not found
by the sheriff, it shall be the duty of the sheriff to return the fact to
the judge or judges, who shall thereupon cause to be drawn from the
