of insurance without regard to agent or solicitor appointments then
available to the applicant or to any combination of kinds of insur-
ance business transacted by any insurer which desires a license for
the applicant.
(2) No examination of an applicant shall be required as to any
kind of insurance or subdivision thereof other than as requested by
the applicant.
(3) If the applicant so requests, examinations shall be adminis-
tered so as to permit the testing in more than one kind of insurance
during the course of a single examination period. DAY.
(d) An individual who meets the qualifications prescribed by this
subtitle shall be eligible for a license as agent or solicitor in the
kind or kinds of insurance or subdivisions thereof for which the
individual has qualified; and if qualified in the various kinds of
insurance stated in section 168 (c) the individual shall be eligible
for license as a broker.
(e) The qualification as to the same kind or kinds of insurance
shall remain in full force and effect until and unless suspended or
revoked by the Commissioner regardless of the licenses which may
from time to time be issued to the individual; provided that the
Commissioner may require an examination to establish the com-
petency of an individual who for five THREE years preceding the
date of his application has held no license as to the kind or kinds of
insurance for which he desires to be licensed. In cases where the
license has been suspended or revoked as provided in section 175, the
Commissioner may in his discretion require the applicant to pass an
examination before reinstatement.
177. Individual Qualifications Other Than Life and Health
Insurance and Annuities.
Individual applicants for qualification as to kinds of insurance
other than life and health insurance and annuities shall be required
to comply with the requirements of this section, as follows:
(1) Education or experience.
(i) The applicant must successfully complete a program of studies,
offered by schools, insurance company schools, or correspondence
schools, which program of studies has been established or approved
by the Commissioner, to the end that the applicant shall be reason-
ably familiar with the specific kind or kinds of insurance, or sub-
divisions thereof, for which he desires to be qualified; or
(ii) He must have been regularly employed by an insurer or an
agent or broker, for a period or periods aggregating not less than
one year during the three years next preceding the date of applica-
tion in responsible insurance duties in connection with the specific
kind or kinds of insurance, or subdivisions thereof, for which he
desires to be qualified, and, in such case, such applicant shall submit
with his application the affidavit of such employer or employers stat-
ing facts which show compliance with this requirement; or
(iii) He must have been regularly employed by an insurer or an
agent or a broker for a period or periods aggregating not less than
one year during the three years next preceding the date of entrance
into the service of the armed forces of the United States or imme-
