[1]99 thirty first day of May anno Dom. 1739 personally Appeared Morgan Hurtt before me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of the peace for the afd County and Acknowledged himself Indebted to his Lordship the Lord propry in the sum of ten pds Currt. money to be made and Leveyed on his body goods and Chattels Lands and Tenements for the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors With Condition to this recognizance that the afd Morgan Hurtt makes his Personall Appearance before the Justices of Our next June Court Then and there to give Evidence in behalf of his Lordship against the afd John Hodgers Then this recognizance to be Void Else to remain in full force in Law Thos. Hynson The afd Evidences being Sworn to the grand Jury upon Which they return the fol. Indictment Vizt Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord propry that now is for the body of Kent County upon their Oath do present that John Hodgers late of Kent County planter on the first day of June Anno Dom. seventeen hundred thirty & nine with force and Arms at the County afd in and upon a Certain William Graves in the peace of God and the said Lord propry then and there being an Assault did make and there beat wound and evilly treat and other harms to him then and there did to the great Damage of him the said Willm. Graves and against the peace of the said Lord propry his Good rule and Government J George On the Back of the afd Indictmt. was Indorsed as fol. Vizt Ignoramus Jams. Ringgold forem. Att Which said third tuesday of June being the Day and year afd last mentioned at Kent County Court afd cometh the afd John Hodgers in his proper prSon & prayeth that his and his Suretys recognizance taken as afd may be Discharged (Ordered) |
