1[79] On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as fol. ViztBilla Vera Jams. Ringgold foreman And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court house in in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday ^ being the nineteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty and nine cometh the afd Lord propry by Joshua George his Attorney and prayeth that the afd Ann to the Indictmt. afd may Answer And the afd Ann in her proper person comes and defends the force and injury when &c And saith that She is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the Indictment afd it is Alledged And thereof She putteth herself upon the Country And he who followeth for the Lord propry in like manner saith She is Guilty J George pr Ld propry Thereupon Command was given to the sher. of Kent County that he Immediately cause to come here twelve &c by whom &c who neither &c To recognize &c because as well &c of which said Precept the said sher. to wit Simon Wilmer Gent. now here at this day to wit the nineteenth day of June in the Year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & nine makes return that he hath here ready twelve &c As by his precept he was Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day & year last above mentioned come again the afd Lord propry by Joshua George his Attorney and the afd Ann in her proper person And the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled and called likewise come to wit James Ringgold, Nathaniel Ricketts, Henry Trulock, Francis Barney Bulluman Medford, Samuel Mansfeild, Michael Hackett Richard Peacock, James Wright, Robert Mansfeild, James Thomas and Charles Smith, who being duely Elected tried & Sworn to say the truth in the premisses the afd Ann Appearing to the Verdict of the Jurors afd Upon their Oath do say that Ann Farthing is guilty as Stands Indicted And by their foreman all so say Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of June being the nineteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord One |
