him brought nor can he say but that he is guilty of the premisses
afd above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is Alledged &
thereof Submits himself to the Court &c            Therefore it is
Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of
March being the twentyeth day of said month in the year of Our
Lord seventeen hundred thirty and eight that the afd John pay the
Sum of One pound ten Shillings Currt. money of Maryland as
a fine According to Act of Assembly for Committing
the fornication afd Also it is Considered by the Justices at the
time and place afd last mentioned that the said John pay the
Sum of                                      pounds of tobacco for
Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to the Severall Officers
of this Court &c            Ordered by this Court here that
the fine afd be delivered the sherr. of Kent County And he
not having wherewithall to Satisfye the fine afd Thereupon
he is Committed into the Custody of the sher. of Kent County
untill the fine afd be Satisfied       It is Also Ordered that
he give Security for the Fees afd Accrueing on the premisses
afd to the Officers of this Court And he having no One to Offer
nor no One Offering for him thereupon he is Committed into
the Custody of the sher. of Kent County untill he give Security
as afd       After which on the day & Year afd Cometh here into
Court John Williamson in his proper person and Assumes
the payment of the fine and fees afd mentioned
Ordered by this Court here that the afd John Merry give Security
for the maintanance of the Bastard Child afd to this County
Thereupon John Williamson of Kent County Gent. and prSent
here in Court in his proper person Assumes to the afd County
for the Maintanance of the Child afd for the full Term of One
Year from the date hereof &c            Jams Smith Clk

His Ldp    Be it remembered that on the 17th day of
agt    Janry. Anno Dom. One thousand Seven hundd.
Richd. Edwards    and thirty eight personally Appeared Richd
Edwards and Robert Kee of Kent County Labourers before me
the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of the peace for
Kent County and Acknowledged themselves to be Indebted to
his Lordship the Right honrble the Lord propry of the province
of Maryland in the sum of twenty pounds currt. money
