that he should take Nathaniell Hynson Senr. Ferryman at
the Narrows of Estern Neck Island If he should be found in his
Bailwick and him safe keep so that he have his body before the
Justices of Our next County Court to be held at Our Court house in
the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of March
next to Answer unto a Presentmt. for not keeping a Sufficient
Boat or Skew and for not keeping Sufficient Attendance for
transporting Persons over the same ferry According to
his Duty as ferryman and Agreement with the Same Court
And that the said sher. have at the time & place afd the said
Writt &c And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the
Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third
tuesday of March being the twentyeth day of said month in
the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred thirty & eight
Cometh Simon Wilmer Gent. sher. of Kent County and made return
thereof to the Court here thereon Indorsed as fol. Vizt
                          Cepi Corpus pr S Wilmer sher. Kt. County
Kent County fst Be it remembered that on this twentyeth day
of March Anno Dom. seventeen hundred & thirty eight Comes here into
Court of the Right honrble the Lord propry held for Kent County at
Chester Town Joshua George Gent. who in his part for the said
Lord Propry prossecuteth before James Harris Esqr. & his Associ:
:ates Justices of the same Lord Propry for the said County and
gives the Court here to understand & be Informed that on the
fifteenth day of Novr. Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & thirty
seven at a Court held for said County at Chester Town afd a Certain
Nathll. Hynson Senr. of the said County Gent. Agreed with the
said Court to keep a Sufficient Ferry Boat or Skew Attended
for transporting persons Over the Narrows of Estern
Neck Island for the year Ensueing for which Service the said
Nathl. was to have an Allowance in the County Levey of
Eighteen pounds Currt. money of Maryland That Nevertheless
the said Nathaniel Hynson his Duty Disregarded did not
keep Sufficient Boat or Skew at the Narros of Eastern
Neck Island afd at the County afd nor did he Sufficiently
Attend the same nor Cause it to be Attended to the great
prejudice and Ditriment of the Inhabitants of the County afd
and to the evill Example of all others in the like case offending
Wherefore the same Joshua George on behalf of the said Lord propry
prayeth the Advice of the Court here in the Premisses and that
