A preamble and resolutions in relation to the erection of a
monument to the memory of the late Major General the Ba-
ron de Kalb, in the city of Annapolis;

The said resolutions were then returned to the Senate.
The bill entitled, an act making appropriation for the sup-
port of the General Government for the year ending January
1st, 1860,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Stirling, chairman of the committee on Ways and
Means, proposed the following amendment:
Sec. 1, add "For the payment of the per diem of the mem-
bers of the Convention to form a new Constitution and form
of Government of this State, if such Convention shall as-
semble under the act passed at the present session, and for
the contingent expenses of the same, one hundred thousand
dollars;"
Which was assented to.
