The bill entitled, an act to amend the act incorporating
the Bladensburg Academy,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Contee proposed the following amendment:

"Section 6. And be it enacted, That at the first election
of trustees under this act four of the present trustees, who
may be selected by the present board, shall be elected into
the new board of trustees hereby authorised to be elected;
and if any of the said four shall decline to serve, the said
board may fill the said vacancy out of the present board;
and the said board hereby authorised to be formed shall
have the power of filling all vacancies that may occur at any
time hereafter.

The bill as amended, read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading;

On motion of Mr. Contee,

The rules were suspended, three-fourths concurring, and
said bill was read the third time, and passed by yeas and
