The House met. Present at the call of the roll the fol-

On motion of Mr. Grieves,
The rules were suspended, and he offered the following
order:
Ordered, That on and after to-morrow 3d instant, this
House will hold two sessions each day, the morning session
to commence at 9 o'clock A. M., and continue until 2 o'clock
P. M., and continue until 2 o'clock P. M., when it will ad-
journ to 4 o'clock P. M., at which time it will meet again for
the transaction of business, and sit until 8 o'clock P. M., and
the Speaker will adjourn at the hour designated without any
motion being made.
Mr. Kennard moved that the said order lie upon the
table,

The bill entitled an act to prevent free negroes and slaves
from having or using boats on the Potomac river,
