Mr. Alexander offered the following order:

Ordered, That bill 413, entitled, an act providing for taking
the sense of the people upon the expediency of calling a con-
vention , &c., and be made the special order for Monday, March
1, at 12 o'clock M.;

Which was adopted.

The bill entitled, an act for the amendment of the law in
mandamus cases;

Being upon its second reading.

Mr. Magruder proposed the following amendments;
Section 4, line 5, fill up blank with five."

Section 4, line 15, after court insert unless the parties shall
agree upon an earlier day ;

Section 5, line 15, fill up blank with "five;"
Which was assented to.

The said bill, as amended, was read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
