Mr. Alexander proposed the following message:
By the House of Delegates,
February 26th, 1858.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received your message of the 25th instant, propos-
ing to refer the work reported by Messrs. Scott and McCul-
lough, Commissioners appointed under the 17th section, arti-
cle 3d, of the Constitution, to revise and codify the Laws of
this State to a joint committee of the two houses, with power
to set during the recess, and report the same to the next ses-
sion of the General Assembly, and concur therein, and have
appointed on the part of this House, Messrs. Alexander, Stir-
ling, Goldsborough, Hobbs, Thruston, Magruder and Belt.
