A bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, to borrow the sum of money, and
to make the levy therein named ;

A bill entitled, an act further supplementary to an act,
passed at December session, 1849, chapter 177, entitled, an act
to reduce the rates of premiums on Wolf, Wild Cat and Fox's
scalps, in Allegany county :
Severally endorsed; "passed by yeas and nays."
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :
A bill entitled, an act to preserve the existence of the St.
Mary's Female Seminary ;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Education; also,

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate a Literary Society in
the city of Cumberland, Allegany county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:"
Which was read the first time.

A bill entitled, an act to amend the act to incorporate the
Elkton and Sassafras River Rail Road Company, passed Janu-
ary session, 1856, chapter 248 ;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Which was read the first time.

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Patuxent Factory;

Which were severally read the first time, and referred to
the committee on Corporations; also,

Returned the bill entitled, an act to authorise the sale of
the tobacco warehouse at Piscataway, in Prince George's
county, and to apply the proceeds thereof;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED :

Strike out all after the word "time" in the first section, and
insert "or to such other county purposes as the said commis-
sioners may deem proper;"

Which were assented to, and

The bill, as amended, passed by yeas and nays as follow:
