430            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 18,

The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled an act for the establishment of an uniform
system of education in the State of Maryland.

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Education.

A bill entitled an act for the protection of certain game in
Howard county, and the several counties therein ;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Agriculture.

A bill entitled an act to incorporate the Trustees of the
Particular Baptist Gunpowder Church in Carroll county.

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an act authorizing the George's Creek Coal
and Iron Company to increase its rates of transportation over
its rail road.

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an act authorising the county Commission-
ers of Baltimore county, to open an Avenue adjacent to the
Eastern boundary of the city of Baltimore, from the intersec-
tion of O. Donnel and Third streets on the Canton Company
Lands, northwardly with Third street to Bank street, then
with Bank street, westwardly to First street and then north-
wardly to Monument street extended ;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Roads and Highways.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise George Vickers, Ex-
ecutor of Sarah P. Wilson, deceased, to pay over to the Lega-
tees and persons, entitled under her last will and testament,
residing in the State of Pennsylvania or elsewhere, and to
authorise the Orphans Court of Kent county, to allow the re-
ceipts of said Legatees or persons entitled to the executor as
credits in the settlement of the accounts on the estate;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Judiciary.
