So the majority report was adopted.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day;

On motion of Mr. Wickes,
The order of the day was postponed until 12½ o'clock.

Mr. Alexander from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to authorise Mary L.
Ridgely, as administratrix of the goods and chattels of David
Ridgely, deceased to convey real estate by deed to Anne Meyer
and others ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit
of Ebenezer Horner, William Hammond, Ennalls Dickinson,
Hewett Ross, Willian Philips, Israel Collins and Stephen
Philips, free persons of color of Caroline county ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Henry
Byas, a free negro of color of Caroline county ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act to authorise the county
Commissioners of Montgomery county, to put upon the levy
of said county, a sum of money for the benefit of George P.
Atwood, of said county ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act to authorise the vestry
of Christ Church, Queen Caroline Parish, in Howard county,
to hold lands for church purposes ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Daniel
Gibson, a free person of color of Caroline county ;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of James
Wheeler, a free person of color of Caroline county ;

Mr. Neale from a select committee, reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to allow Henry M. Langley, late a Col-
lector of Election District No. 1, of St. Mary's county, fur-
ther time to complete his collections ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough from a select committee, reported favor-
