lating to salted and foreign fish, already inspected;

Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city, presented a petition of the
Monumental Association of the Locomotive Engineers of Bal-
timore, the President and Directors of the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company, and two hundred citizens of Balti-
more, praying the passage of an act to secure the greater
safety of persons traveling on railroads in this State;

Which was referred to the committee on Internal Improve-
ments.

Mr. Alexander presented a petition of Thomas J. Fort and
fifty-four other citizens of Maryland, paying taxes to Virginia,
praying a speedy settlement of the dividing line between the
two States:

pointed on that subject.

Mr. Hobbs presented a petition of James H. Maynard and
nineteen other citizens of Frederick county, praying the pas-
sage of an act making it obligatory on county and district
officers to suppress all negro night meetings, whether religious
or otherwise;

tion.

Mr. Ford, of Cecil county, presented a petition of Thomas
Miller and thirty-four other citizens of Cecil county, against
the passage of any school bill for said county;

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of sundry citizens
of Caroline county, in reference to the Farmers' and Mer-
chants' Bank of Greensborough in Caroline county;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. McGonigal presented a petition from forty-four citi-
zens of Caroline county, praying that a law may be passed
confining the duties of constables and town bailiffs to their
respective districts and villages, where they are elected;

Which was referred to the Caroline county delegation.

Mr. Bacon presented a petition of thirty-two citizens of Havre
de Grace in Harford county, praying the enactment of a law,
making Canal Boats liable for debts contracted for their
use;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.
