1768; recom. 28 Aug. 1769 and 29 April 1773 (Commission Book No. 82, ff.

and sworn 22 May 1695; dismissed 23 July and restored 20 Oct. 1695 (AM, XIX,
156; XX, 245; XXIII, 166, 279); died in office in Dec. 1701.

3. Matthias Vanderheyden of Cecil County (Prot.), succeeded his brother-
in-law, Col. Thompson (AM, XXIV, 316; XXVII, 188); resigned in 1711; died in
May, 1729.

4. Stephen Knight of Cecil County (Prot.), took office prior to 27 Oct.
1711 (AM, XXIX, 12, 48); resigned in August, 1733.
